Emily Parzybok

Emily Parzybok is an essayist, political consultant and meditation teacher living in Seattle, Washington. She currently serves as the Executive Director at Balance Our Tax Code, a coalition dedicated to advocacy for progressive revenue and investment in communities across Washington state. In the past, Emily has run numerous campaigns at the legislature and ballot on issues ranging from voting justice to gun violence prevention to workers' rights.
Outside of her political work, Emily teaches yoga and meditation at various studios and with New School Collective, an online pay-what-you-can yoga and meditation collective she co-founded during the pandemic stay at home era. Emily has studied extensively with Sarah and Ty Powers, Paul Grilley, Tias Little, Tempel Smith, and others. She has sat silent retreats in Asia and the United States and hosts weekend silent retreats near her home in Seattle.
Emily has been published in The Satirist, The Syndrome Mag and Edible Front Range magazine where she served as a writer and social media manager, building a community around food and food justice in Boulder, Colorado. She has work forthcoming in the Uncertain Girls, Uncertain Times anthology, a collection of inspiration and encouragement for young women. Emily begins an MFA in Creative Writing at New York University in the summer of 2021.
