Another anticipated writing book has just come out. Full title: Craft in the Real World: Rethinking Fiction Writing and Workshopping by Matthew Salesses.

Not a question, but I signed up to do this sound bath early on New Years Day, (then slept in and did it this evening,) and it was wonderful! :) I thought other people might enjoy, and if you happen to have a heated blanket you can lay under, just saying! (My yoga studio at home is cold in winter and I got a heated throw for xmas - bliss!) https://youtu.be/IcoexrgyUcQ

If you're sitting on a bookstore gift card with no idea what to buy, there's a book coming out on the 12th of January that I've been looking forward to. It's essentially a distilled version of a course George Saunders has been teaching to mfa students at Syracuse for twenty-odd years on Russian short fiction. Not necessarily a writing book in the "how-to" sense, but I'll bet it's plenty revealing as to what the Russian masters did that makes their work so compelling.

I'm so embarrassed I forget who told me about the seminar Lauren Groff was giving today with the University of Michigan but she's following it up tomorrow, Friday, December 4 at 10am PST with a lecture on the craft of writing. It's during A Very Important Meeting, unfortunately, but I'll follow up with a link if I find one to a replay.
